Alice Board, Co-Chair
The Alice Primary Election endorsements are out! My fellow co-chair Ron Flynn and I congratulate our PAC Committee, led by Lou Fischer and David Augustine, on their smooth and professional endorsement process. I want to also thank our membership for coming out and casting your ballots last month. We have an extremely strong slate of endorsed candidates that we are excited to support and help get elected. It is diverse, includes some of our LGBT community’s strongest allies, and showcases several highly accomplished women running for office this year – Betty Yee for State Controller, Fiona Ma for Board of Equalization, and Kimberly Williams for Superior Court Judge, Office 20. We hope you volunteer to help us walk precincts, write postcards, and support our visibility events for our candidates.
We want to also congratulate Alice Board Member Ken Cleaveland, who was recently appointed to the San Francisco Fire Commission. There has not been a member of the LGBT community on this important commission for some time, so we are excited to have representation. Ken will do a fantastic job!
Preparations are underway for our annual Pride Breakfast, to be held at the Hyatt Embarcadero Sunday, June 29th. Start your Pride Parade day festivities with a full stomach after dining with a room full of the “who’s who” in Bay Area and California politics. Ticket information and further details, including guest speakers, will be announced soon.
Enjoy this month’s newsletter and let us know what news and information important to Democrats and the LGBT community you would like to see here. We are only as strong as our membership and we want to hear from you!
