General Membership Endorsement Meeting
Monday, September 12, 2011
LGBT Center, 1800 Market Street, San Francisco, CA
August has been a very busy month for the Alice Political Action Committee (PAC), made up of Alice’s Board of Directors, Emeritus Board, and any/all former Co-Chairs and Presidents of the Club from throughout the last 40 years. The PAC held two full Saturdays of interviews with the candidates for Mayor. Questionnaires were organized and completed. Further discussions were held. And after these activities, the Alice PAC has finalized recommendations for the November 8th citywide election. On Monday, September 12th, the full Alice membership will have the opportunity to weigh in on the recommendations from the Alice PAC. You can read up on any and all further information about the propositions and candidates via the San Francisco Elections Department and the Alice website for answers to our questionnaires.
Thanks goes to the Alice PAC for their months-long work in researching the candidates and issues and putting forward these recommendations. This is also the first year Alice has put forward a ranked-endorsement proposal for candidates, based on our new bylaws from earlier this year. Much discussion throughout this year has been had on determining the best course of action for the Alice endorsements and these recommendations reflect that year-long discussion within the club. We look forward to seeing you on September 12th for the full membership vote.
